Kotabaru exposes results of UGM's KKN-PPM - ANTARA News Kalimantan Selatan

Kotabaru, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - The government of Kotabaru, South Kalimantan, exposed the results of Gadjah Mada University's (UGM) students community service and empowerment (KKN-PPM) program in the district.

Deputy Regent Syairi Mukhlis expressed high appreciation for the contribution made directly by UGM students to the community.

“KKN-PPM activities in Kotabaru will end, I on behalf of the local government extend my gratitude and highest appreciation for the students who have carried out community service in Kotabaru,” he stated here.

This event, he said, aims to present the results, achievement, and recommendation of UGM's KKN-PPM program carried out by the students in Gedambaan Village and Tirawan Village, Pulau Laut Sigam Sub-district, for approximately six weeks.

During their 50-day service in Kotabaru, the students conducted many activities to educate, socialize, and provide understanding in the field of education, health, technology, and economics.

“This KKN-PPM provides a valuable foundation for the students. Theories learned on campus differ from the realities encountered directly in the field,” he said.

He also appreciated the students' participation to enliven the Saijaan Cultural Festival, which is listed in the the  yang masuk dalam Nusantara Calender Event (KEN) for five consecutive years.

Coordinator of North Sagara Unit, Aryan Duta Ramadhana, explained that various programs have been carried out from the field of education, health, appropriate technology, MSME economy, environment, to the Sagara Festival and agricultural development.

He also reported on the achievements made during 6 weeks of service. In Gedambaan Village there were 74 work programs and 60 programs in Tirawan Village, bringing the total to 134 programs.

The event is expected to be a bridge between the students service outcome and the local government's programs. So that the initiatives can be further continued and developed by the village government and rekevant government agencies.
